Nevermore Jazz Ball puts musicians and live music at the forefront. You won’t find any music line-up quite like this one at any other dance event. As always, we’re highlighting the best local talent with Miss Jubilee and other STL bands, the finest active jazz musicians of the central corridor, and 8+ local bands participating in our Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl.



The Mound City Mamas

Thursday Night Opening Dance

Led by Kellie Everett (aka Banjo Kellie), the Mound City Mama’s features some of STL’s finest jazz musicians and comprises an all-woman frontline! Featuring Kellie Everett on plectrum banjo and guitar, Chloe Feoranzo on reeds, and more, the Mound City Mama’s will kick things off right with swinging’ beats and an old-fashioned good time.


Jake Sanders’ Sextet Featuring Mike Davis

   Friday Main Dance

This swingin’ group is going to have a drive and groove that will keep you moving     indefinitely. Chicagoans Jake Sanders (leader, guitar), John Otto (reeds), Paul Asaro (piano), Dan Delorenzo (bass), and Andre Beasley (drums) will be joined by virtuoso trumpet player Mike Davis of New York. Needless to say, this is going to be one swingin’ band.

Saturday Main Dance

This never-before-seen swing orchestra is designed specifically for the Nevermore Jazz Ball! Also led by Jake Sanders, members of the Friday night Sextet will be joined by Charlie Halloran on trombone, Kellie Everett on reeds, and other St. Louis musicians. This band will be offering a full sound and driving swing through Jake’s original arrangements.



Miss Jubilee

Sunday Night Closing Dance

Nevermore Jazz Ball favorite and local STL staple Miss Jubilee returns to the stage this year! Fronted by the ever-stylish and dynamic vocalist Miss Jubilee, this swingin’ band brings a unique blend of your favorite old-timey tunes from the 20’s through the 40’s. Even as they are becoming more in-demand throughout the nation, true to their St. Louis roots, Miss Jubilee’s band highlights the musical heritage of their hometown–ST. LOUIS!–by paying tribute to the artists and songs that came from this great city. Check them out HERE.



The Sidney Street Shakers

 Friday Night and Saturday Night

The recently formed Sidney Street Shakers is a local group specializing in early jazz and swing music for dancing. The band includes of Kellie Everett (bass sax), TJ Muller (trumpet), Chloe Feoranzo (clarinet), Jacob Alspach (trombone), Mary Ann Shulte (piano), and Joe Park (guitar). The Shakers will keep you shaking till the wee hours of the morning!


The Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl

Saturday afternoon

Featuring several live, local acts, the Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl showcases the best of St. Louis’ jazz and blues music scene and puts you into the heart of one of our most dynamic  and diverse neighborhood, the Cherokee-Lemp Arts District. More details TBA!
